The Second Annual Hydropower Foundation Golf Outing is scheduled for Monday, October 17, 2022, in conjunction with the industry-wide Clean Currents Conference + Tradeshow occurring in Sacramento, California, the week of October 17, 2022.

The outing is at the Whitney Oaks Golf Club, a 30-minute drive from the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento, where Clean Currents is taking place. Golf outing participants will be transported via chartered bus to world-class facilities.

The fee for participation is $175, and the golf outing can be added as a “Special Event” during Clean Currents registration. Whether you’re a service or product supplier or manufacturer looking for an opportunity to engage with customers, or if you simply want to support the Hydropower Foundation while enjoying a game of golf, consider signing up for the 2nd Annual Hydropower Foundation Golf Outing.

WHAT IS THE HYDROPOWER FOUNDATION GOLF OUTING?

The Hydropower Foundation, a non-profit organization that works to find ways to connect university and trade school students with the hydropower industry and potential careers in the sector, recently held a week-long “Hydro Think Tank” at the Bureau of Reclamation’s Grand Coulee Dam. During the week, students competed to solve real-world challenges in hydropower, giving them exposure to what work would be like for them in the industry. Proceeds from the Golf Outing go toward funding programs like this one.

The First Annual Foundation Golf Outing took place at the Capital City Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia, during the 2021 Clean Currents conference + tradeshow. That outing attracted 76 players. The Hydropower Foundation expects to repeat the tournament’s 2021 success this year.

This year, the Hydropower Foundation selected the Whitney Oaks Golf Club, which is located in Rocklin, California. This premium 18-hole course opened to the public in 1997 and is currently owned and operated by the United Auburn Indian Community. The club prides itself on providing world-class service, as well as a driving rage, clubhouse, and a Pro Shop.

When golfers arrive at the course, there will be opportunities for networking, enjoying beverages, and warming up their swings. The game will be a shotgun start at noon with teams competing for significant prizes. Also, hole-specific challenges will run concurrently to the game itself where participants will have the chance to win skill prizes.

A new addition to the 2022 outing is the “hole-in-one” competition. If a participant can get a hole-in-one on the #8 hole, then they will receive a six-day/five-night package for two to see the Masters Tournament in 2023! Included in the prize is round-trip air fare, event transfers, and overnight accommodations in Augusta, Georgia.

The Second Annual Foundation Golf Outing is an excellent opportunity for suppliers to mix and mingle with customers for an entire day. Lunch, drinks, and opportunities to socialize are provided, making the outing an ideal setting for connecting at the start of Clean Currents.
